AWANA Children's Ministry!
AWANA is where kids can learn about the Bible
and memorize scripture in a fun and exciting way. The word, "AWANA", stands for
"Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" and is based on 2 Timothy 2:15,
"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth." (KJV)
AWANA meets
each Wednesday night during the school year from 6:15 to 8:00 pm.
Parents drop off and pick up children in Eastlan's Family Life Center.
And participation in AWANA is not limited to Eastlan members - everyone is welcome!
Eastlan's AWANA program currently includes the following clubs:
Puggles - for 2 and "younger" 3 year olds
Puggles is an enriching program that presents two basic biblical concepts:
we are a unique creation of God, and God loves us very much.
Puggles learn simple lessons through teaching cards, activities, music, and more.
A guidebook helps leaders plan and direct “Puggles” time and helps teachers communicate the lessons.
Parents help reinforce lessons with take-home cards that include ideas to point out God’s work each day.
Puggles plants seeds of faith and teaches toddlers God’s Word!

Cubbies - for preschool ages 3 and 4
Cubbies is a preschooler program designed to meet two objectives:
young children can and should receive spiritual training,
and the home is the primary place for children to receive their spiritual training.
Cubbies meets these objectives through FUN, and lots of it!
But the fun has a purpose – to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ.
Games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities transform the Cubbies program into a lively weekly experience
where fun and learning go hand in hand!

Sparks - for K5, 1st and 2nd graders
Sparks builds on Cubbies with curriculum that takes children deeper into God’s Word.
Boys and girls frequently come to understand the need to trust Christ as their personal Savior
while in Sparks because the program is firmly grounded in Scripture.
Three Sparks handbooks feature: basic truths about God, Jesus Christ and salvation;
Scripture memorization; and a clear, consistent presentation of the gospel message.
Sparks meetings combine learning with fun, creating irresistible excitement for kids.
Along the way, Sparky, the friendly firefly, encourages children to learn verses and complete assignments
as they progress through their handbooks.
